Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller – Contract-to-hire | Start ASAP

Base pay range: $60.00/hr - $75.00/hr

An innovative electric vehicle company is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee core accounting functions and lead process improvements. This is a full-time, onsite role working closely with top industry professionals to support timely and accurate financial reporting.

60-90 day contract-to-hire opportunity.

• Oversee daily accounting operations with backup processes for all critical functions
• Create and maintain corporate accounting policies
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc reports for leadership
• Lead process optimization and strategic planning initiatives
• Manage SOX 404 implementation for general accounting
• Act as the primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Support internal, statutory, tax, and SEC audit processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10+ years of general accounting experience at a public company (required)
• Experience in manufacturing or OEM environments (required)
• Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Knowledge of SAP HANA preferred
• CPA certification preferred
