Job Description
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and perform procedures on various anatomical internal organs, vessels, fluid accumulations, masses, and developing fetuses.
  • Report preliminary findings, measurements, and diagnoses to the appropriate personnel (Radiologist or Cardiologist).
  • Record scanned ultrasound images and transfer them to the imaging system for interpretation after verifying quality.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current credential:
    Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS); or Registered Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT)) by ARRT; or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). One-year new graduate registration acceptable.
  • For Radiology department: ARDMS abdomen or OB/GYN registry required within 12 months of hire; advanced certification in Sonography (R.T.(S)) required within 12 months of hire; registered vascular technology (RVT), vascular sonography (VS), or Vascular Specialist (RVS) required within 24 months of hire.
