Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. They ensure that the customer’s products arrive at their destination on schedule and in good condition while representing the company and building lasting customer relationships.

Position Responsibilities
  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company safe driving guidelines, and policies; immediately report all safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailers to ensure freight is properly loaded and secured.
  • Ensure all required route paperwork is with the tractor‑trailer and available to driver upon dispatch.
  • Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedules.
  • Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines.
  • Park and store tractor‑trailers in designated areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and freight are securely locked and/ or always secured.
  • Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailers; return to base facility and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete a daily record of hours of service and enter the log in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent Experience
  • Valid CDL A
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Clean MVR for the past 3 years
  • Work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday–Thursday nights (schedules may vary)
  • Pass pre‑employment drug test
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand‑lift and utilize two‑wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight during the shift; product generally ranges from approximately 60–90 pounds, depending on the location.
