Job Summary

The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, and formulate individualized treatment programs.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
  • Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient/resident treatment based on an established plan of care.
  • Screen and evaluate residents and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication efficiency of individuals with communication, swallowing, or cognitive problems.
  • Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
  • Maintain patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools treatments for the specific needs of patients.

  • Education and Experience
    • Graduate of an accredited Masters or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology.
    • State license as a speech pathologist required.
    • Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards.
    Physical Requirements
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
