Job Summary

The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, and formulate individualized treatment programs.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, hearing, cognitive, or swallowing issues.
Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient/resident treatment based on an established plan of care.
Screen and evaluate residents and develop appropriate care plans.
Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communication efficiency of individuals with communication, swallowing, or cognitive problems.
Administer, score, and interpret specialized hearing and speech tests.
Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
Maintain patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
Devises special tools treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education and Experience

Graduate of an accredited Masters or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology.
State license as a speech pathologist required.
Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
