Maintenance Tech

Overview

Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Skilled, located in the heart of Gardner, Kansas, is seeking to hire immediately a maintenance tech. This is a full-time position with benefits.

The Maintenance Tech must possess advanced skills in painting and basic skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

• Works closely with and follows directions from the maintenance director/supervisor;
• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition;
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the maintenance director/supervisor;
• Takes care of the tools and equipment;
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms, and extinguishers; changes filters on HVAC equipment; carries, lifts, and stocks supplies.
• Remains on call, when assigned, for 24 hours a day.
• Performs other duties as requested.

• Ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

• High school degree or equivalent and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• This position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
