Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Part‑time (24 hours per week) at North Central Correctional Institution, Gardner, MA.
Base Pay Range$25.00/hr – $30.00/hr

- Work within a correctional facility.
- Administer medications and record daily medication for patients in state‑approved facilities. Perform delegated nursing tasks allowed by state law.
- Order stock medication as needed without exceeding established maximum inventory levels.
- Reconcile daily medications received from pharmacy against faxed order form.
- Distribute ordered medications to appropriate storage areas, rotate stock, and return outdated medications to the pharmacy.
- Coordinate with nurses to assist with patient care, observe patients, and document changes in their condition.
- Notify pharmacy of incarcerated individuals’ transfers or releases.
- Seek guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Follow federal, state, and agency regulations to protect health and safety.
- Adhere to Universal Precaution and Infection Control procedures.
- Gather samples for analysis.
- Respond to emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems, identify needs, and report back to the nursing/HCP team for guidance.
- Maintain proficiency with CPR and receive annual recertification training.
- Assist in cleaning, sterilizing, and securing equipment; ensure equipment is inspected and cleaned routinely.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or relevant qualification.
- At least one (1) year of experience in emergency or correctional service.
- Certified Medical Assistant with completion of an accredited medical assistant training program.
- Good understanding of medical and pharmacological terminology.
