CDL Driver/Highway Technician 1 (Lake, Geauga, & Cuyahoga Counties). NOW HIRING CDL HOLDERS FOR WINTER SNOW & ICE SEASON. District 12, Ohio Department of Transportation, is now accepting applications for Seasonal Highway Technicians for Cuyahoga, Lake, & Geauga Counties.

• Hands-on maintenance of traffic and flagging
• Highway maintenance and repair work activities (e.g., pothole patching, spread berm, repair guardrails, crack seal, litter pick-up, drainage, vegetation management such as weed eating, brush cutting, and mowing)
• Operation of heavy equipment (e.g., dump truck, loader) and hand tools (e.g., chainsaw)
• Perform snow & ice operations

• Formal education in arithmetic including addition, subtraction, decimals, percentages, fractions; ability to read, write & speak common English vocabulary; 3 months training or 3 months experience in operation of basic equipment
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License at the appropriate level to operate motorized equipment per Ohio Revised Code 4506, or equivalent minimum qualifications
