Library Page – Bilingual in Spanish and English (02889C)

Hours:

9 hours weekly, some evening or weekend availability may be required
Rate of Pay: $15.96 per hour

Reports to:

Head of Circulation

Highlighted Duties:

Return books, materials, and equipment to the correct location in the library.
Organize library materials for accuracy and convenient access.
Searches the library for materials on hold or misplaced.
Staff the Circulation Desk as needed, assisting with all the basic Circulation tasks, including answering basic patron inquiries and informing patrons of library services, checking in and out books, collecting payments or fees, creating library cards, registering patrons for programs, assisting with computers, copiers, and scanners, etc.
Assist in translation directly with patrons as needed.
Will be required to learn how to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
2 hours of continuing education courses are required every year via webinars, workshops, or seminars.
Perform other duties as assigned for an evolving and growing library.

Requirements:

Applicants must be fluent in both Spanish and English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Some background in libraries, museums, or other similar venues is preferred.
