The Strategic Pricing Specialist develops, differentiates, and manages pricing strategies to achieve optimized profitability, using market intelligence and proactive improvement to enable competitive pricing in local and global markets.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop, differentiate, and manage pricing strategies and methodologies for existing products, new technology, and acquired businesses.
- Maintain, update, and improve the pricing model within the price management system, aligning with Epiroc’s strategies.
- Use product features and metrics to create value‑based pricing, applying qualitative and quantitative approaches.
- Initiate and monitor strategic pricing improvement projects and campaigns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on competitor prices and implement strategic initiatives.
- Lead pricing initiatives counted as strategic moves, e.g., Dynamic Pricing, trading risks, value‑based pricing, and selling arguments.
- Track, audit, and review regional/global pricing agreements and price lists, harmonizing price levels across regions and customers.
- Analyze and monitor return on planned initiatives related to customer segments, product offerings, cost, and market trends.
- Create marketing tools and dashboards to analyze financial impact of pricing strategy on product & customer segments.
- Follow global pricing KPIs and support the Global Pricing Manager.
- Collaborate openly with internal stakeholders and maintain transparent dialogue within the pricing team.
- Pricing structure fully implemented across all relevant product offerings.
- Utilization of market intelligence.
- Improvement on customer agreements.
- Improvement on customer segment‑based profitability and revenue.
- Continuous improvement of Epiroc pricing model.
- Follow‑up on strategic initiatives and support Global Pricing Manager for Epiroc’s KPIs.
- Strong analytical capabilities with business acumen and customer orientation.
- Excellent communication and networking skills; strong command in English.
- Accountability and ability to drive change management.
- Belief in pricing as a strategic initiative.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with concurrent projects.
- Ability to communicate fact‑based analyses in reports and presentations.
- University degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field; experience equivalent to degree may be considered.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience managing pricing strategies for existing products, new technology, or acquired businesses.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for large data analysis and reporting.
- Problem‑solving and project management skills desirable.
- Experience with value‑based price setting required; prior pricing experience essential.
- Background in Mining, Heavy Equipment, or Construction desirable.
