Platform Engineer II​/Linux; Onsite

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) is seeking a Platform Engineer II / Linux with experience in Linux Infrastructure Engineering. This role is based in Richardson, TX and requires U.S. citizenship and a TS/SCI security clearance. The engineer will work onsite with an agile product team to implement and maintain Linux server and infrastructure solutions.

• Leverage industry best practices to develop and communicate infrastructure solutions.
• Maintain existing Linux systems using Linux-based tools and manage the COTS stack.
• Assist with integration of platform provisioning tools such as VMware.
• Ensure proper COTS stack versioning and coordinate updates with the team.
• Travel to customer sites for system updates and deployments as needed.

• BS/BA in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Physics) and minimum 3 years of related work experience.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
• Experience with VMware.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go.
• Valid TS/SCI security clearance, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain a CI Poly for privileged user access.

• Experience with Linux LDAP for account and permission management.
• Basic Linux Bash scripting for task automation.
• Experience with Layer 7 technologies.
• Experience with modernization tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, Xray, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Sonar Qube.

• Salary range: $66,000 - $130,000 USD, commensurate with experience.
