Job Description

About the Role

We seek a versatile and experienced Senior Principal Development Engineer to lead the development of advanced electronic systems for defense and space applications. This hands-on leader will drive complex product designs from semiconductor components to integrated systems, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product development from concept to prototype, validation, and production.
  • Manage and direct the activities of your engineering team.
  • Apply systems engineering disciplines for requirements, architecture, and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with development processes and quality standards.
  • Support sustaining engineering and new development projects.
  • Design and support electronic systems including optoelectronics, sensors, displays, and power management systems.
  • Develop hardware architectures, interface definitions, and software requirements.
  • Perform technical analyses such as stress testing and derating.
  • Maintain detailed documentation including schematics and analysis reports.
  • Lead design reviews and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in OrCAD, PSpice, and Solid Works 2023.
  • Participate in meetings and design reviews to ensure project alignment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. preferred.
  • 10+ years in electronic design, preferably in defense or aerospace.
  • Proven leadership and mentorship skills.
  • Multidisciplinary background across systems, mechanical, optical, thermal, and materials engineering.
  • Strong understanding of product assurance, cost control, and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-PRF-19500 and MIL-PRF-38534 is a plus.
  • Passion for learning and applying emerging technologies in defense and space.
