CONTROLS ENGINEER - INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

Reporting to the plant Preventive Maintenance Superintendent, our Controls Engineer manages high speed making and packaging lines with a focus on automation
; PLC and HMI Programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot current process PLC program and HMI on 4 existing lines; collaborate with other Controls Engineers and Process Engineers to accomplish improvements to the existing lines
• Provide instruction and guidance to less experienced technical employees
• Assist in the design of control systems (I/O and Motor Lists, P&’s etc.)
• Create functional requirements specification documents with the corresponding FAT and SAT plans
• Perform on-site startup
  , commissioning, validate and support
• Identify changes in scope and notify Project/Engineering Manager in a timely manner
• Develop approaches to solve problems
  , handle customer demands, changes and complaints
• Contribute a broad technical competence to the team, along with superior communication, correspondence, and mediation skills
• Assist in managing project’s resources, schedule, budget and scope
• Provides input and resolves issues during the Estimating and Fabrication processes
• Manage and develop project deliverables independently or within a team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent automation experience
• 5 + years of experience with Industrial Automation
• OSHA
• PLC/HMI (RS Studio 5000/Control Logix;
  Wonderware Intouch and ArchestrA System Platform; Inductive Automation Ignition; Factory Talk ME/Panel View and SE)
• Drives/VFDs (Power Flex and Kinetix Servo Drives)
• Networks (Ethernet, DLR, CISCO Switches)
• Software/Database (C++; C#, NET, Java, SQL and Oracle)
• Good analytical skills
• Team player
