Senior Executive Recruiter at LHH/Parker and LynchLHH is seeking a Project Accountant to join a rapidly expanding organization in the construction and services industry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, project accounting, and cost management for large-scale installation and build projects across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a background in accounting or finance, and hands‑on experience supporting project-based financial operations.
This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with project managers, operations, and leadership to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Serve as a financial liaison for construction and installation projects, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of project‑related activity
- Compare and analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and providing commentary on variances
- Maintain percentage‑of‑completion schedules and revenue recognition for active projects
- Compile and maintain detailed cost management documentation for project planning, execution, and closeout
- Prepare and review estimates for new or proposed project costs
- Collect, analyze, and monitor project spending to ensure alignment with budget expectations
- Support monthly forecasting and budgeting processes to ensure job costs are properly captured and reported
- Evaluate and process change orders, providing impact analysis and documentation
- Prepare monthly sales and cost analysis reports to support commission calculations and management reporting
- Perform variance and profitability analyses across projects to assess financial performance
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data between sub‑ledgers, ERP systems, and SAP
- Develop and maintain tools and templates to support financial reporting, process improvements, and strategic initiatives
- Secure sensitive financial information and maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Participate in cross‑training and process documentation to ensure of key accounting functions
- Assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on project-based or cost accounting
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, or installation services industries strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively to non‑financial stakeholders
- Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, team‑oriented approach
