We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Manager to join our Administration team, reporting directly to the President. In this role, you will be responsible for managing every aspect of the human element for the business. This includes policy development and maintenance, onboarding and offboarding, performance improvement, and payroll administration. You will also play a key role in benefit communication, employee retention, and the coordination of employee events.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment & Staffing: Create and monitor job descriptions, manage applicants, screen/test candidates, and interact with recruiting organizations. Handle hiring, terminations, and employment status changes.
- Compliance & Records: Prepare employment records and maintain files. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations regarding employment practices, payroll, and benefits. Maintain the affirmative action program.
- Employee Relations: Advise management on the resolution of employee issues. Deliver and document disciplinary actions and corrective action plans as necessary.
- Payroll & Benefits: Administer bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll (including taxes and 401K) and file W2s annually. Manage workers' compensation, STD, LTD, and unemployment claims. Administer company benefits including enrollment, termination, and invoice reconciliation.
- Operations: Plan and coordinate company events and maintain personnel policies and procedures.
- Experience &
Education:
BS/BA in HR, business administration, or a relevant field, plus three (3) years of related experience and/or training. - HR Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of a wide variety of HR functions, labor laws, and regulations. Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
- Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS. Exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Attributes: Aptitude for critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information without breach. Must be motivated, enthusiastic, and a team player with demonstrated strength of character and ethics.
