Raytheon is hiring a Database Engineer II to support our teams in Richardson TX
. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this position you would be familiar with creating, updating, and managing databases and the code that interacts with them.
- Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
- Successfully integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer-driven solutions.
- Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
- Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.
- Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
- Gain experience with Postgre
SQL and Mongo
DB.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of Database Engineering experience.
- Experience with Database Administrator (DBA) duties.
- Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle.
- Experience working with Systems and Software.
- Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities.
- Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI prior to start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

SQL and Mongo
DB experience strongly preferred. - Existing Security+ Certification.
- Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with No
SQL database products such as Mongo
DB and Dynamo
DB. - Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
- Experience troubleshooting performance issues
- Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
- Experience with automating routine tasks.
- Experience with Spatial databases
- Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful!
