Position SummaryThe individual will be responsible for safe handling of small to large components and materials (sheet metal, structure) using a forklift. They will also load, unload, transport and store goods using a forklift, overhead crane, pallet truck or hand truck.
Roles and Responsibilities- Safely carry out and transport components and materials to the required departments using a forklift (6,500 lb propane), an overhead crane, a pallet jack, or a hand truck.
- Inspect components & materials received using the plans, BOM, MOC, receipt slip and other relevant documents.
- Identify the components & materials received.
- Keep the reception area safe and clean (cutting and dismantling wooden pallets, preparation for recycling, etc.).
- Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift and handle equipment and materials.
- Bundle, wrap or band material for shipment.
- Communicate with supply and quality regarding any non‑compliant delivery and participate in the development of the non‑compliance report (quarantine area).
- Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure accurate inventory.
- Participate in inventory/material counts.
- Participate when required in the loading of units.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Computer
Skills:
ERP system and Microsoft Office experience (an asset). - Certificates & Licenses: Forklift license required and overhead crane license (an asset).
