As Nurse Manager of Pediatric Surgery, you will oversee Pediatric Cardiac Non‑Invasive Vascular Lab, Pediatric Cath Lab, and Pediatric CT Surgery Staff, managing all department functions in support of the hospital mission and goals. The role requires an RN who accepts responsibility for critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, provides clinical expertise, and directs leadership to achieve optimal peri‑operative patient outcomes.
- Create department‑specific initiatives and process improvement.
- Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the health‑care team.
- Accept responsibility for management of multi‑level personnel, payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships, including recruitment endeavors.
- Serve as liaison for hospital, community, and other institutions.
- Organize and supervise human and material resources.
- Evaluate quality of peri‑operative practices against professional and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to facilitate delivery of patient care.
- Bachelor of Nursing degree required;
Master’s in nursing or related field preferred.
- Current RN license in Texas or compact license.
- AHA or ARC BLS provider required.
- CNOR certification within one year of hire/transfer or promotion, or specialty certification.
- Nurse Leader Certification preferred.
- Ten years of operating room experience, including five years of peri‑operative nursing management experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial implications of materials, equipment, and human resources.
