Pediatric Emergency Department Specialty Rate: $62/hr plus applicable differentials
Schedule:
PRN Days 7A-7P
- All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period
- Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need
- Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period
- During the course of the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee)
- Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital
- Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy
- Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses
- Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation
- Current employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal Program for 2025‑26
- Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program
- Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department

- Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and ensures understanding.
- Provides follow‑up education on healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention and lifestyle changes.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Emergency Nurse (PEN) certification must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree required with 12‑month enrollment and 24‑month completion
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Compensation$62 per hour plus applicable differentials. No guaranteed hours; seasonal PRN.
