Job Description

This role focuses on learning the multi-skilled maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning while working in a technical position and continuing education in a trade.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Learn the multi-skilled maintenance trade through assignments and formal learning, focusing on developing maintenance skills and abilities.
  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Understand safety rules and procedures to safely perform all tasks.
  • Know and practice respectful workplace behavior.
  • Continue education in a trade.
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • LOTO trained and Deviation Permit Process.
  • Understand basic concepts of electricity including voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Understand and operate a volt‑ohm‑millimeters (VOM) and non‑contact voltage testers.
  • Understand basics of electrical machine controls.
  • Understand mechanical fastener types, application, and installation procedures.
  • Handle, dispense, and apply various types of lubricants; understand types, properties, storage, handling, and application of basic lubricants and typical lubricant charts.
  • Understand hydraulic valve configuration, operations, and components.
  • Understand pneumatic valve configuration, operation, and component.
  • Weld, braze, solder, and cut metal.
  • Understand basic components of blueprints including scales, symbols, and dimensions.
  • Understand basic machine shop skills and machine safety.
  • Participate in TPM initiatives.
  • Adaptable to working in dangerous situations (vaults, scaffolding), heavy equipment, and all climates.
  • Transport and safely store oxygen and acetylene cylinders.
  • Use block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come‑alongs, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment.
  • Inspect heavy lifting hardware and cranes and help perform heavy lifting jobs.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
  • Use of block and tackle, chain hoists, slings, levelers, come‑alongs, jacks, and winches to lift or move equipment.
  • Understanding of basic machine shop skills and machine safety.
  • Understanding and participation in TPM initiatives.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 100 lbs.
  • Some heavy lifting required to replace motors, pumps, extruder screws, etc. at low frequency. Equipment is provided to move/manipulate heavy components.
  • Requires repetitive action such as simple starting, grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulating.
  • Outside work required.
  • High work form, ladders and platforms.
  • Working in confined space conditions.
  • Handling hazardous waste wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • Working near energized electric circuits.
  • Working near/on hot equipment/materials.
Pay Range

$24.10 - $34.85
