Job Description About the Role
The Night Order Puller plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate fulfillment of customer orders during overnight shifts within the wholesale trade industry. This position is responsible for retrieving products from inventory based on order specifications, preparing them for shipment, and maintaining organized stock areas to support seamless warehouse operations. The role demands attention to detail to minimize errors and ensure that orders are complete and ready for timely delivery.
Working primarily during night hours, the Night Order Puller contributes to meeting tight deadlines and supporting the supply chain's continuous flow. Ultimately, this position helps maintain high customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work overnight shifts reliably and consistently.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read order sheets and count inventory.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items up to 65 pounds repeatedly.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or order fulfillment environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse machinery.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in wholesale trade or distribution centers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts.
- Accurately pull and prepare customer orders from warehouse inventory according to order sheets or electronic systems.
- Verify product quantities and quality to ensure order accuracy before packaging and shipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory locations to facilitate efficient order picking and restocking.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and forklifts, as required.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to meet nightly order fulfillment targets.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or equipment issues promptly to management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies during night shift operations.
The Night Order Puller utilizes attention to detail daily to ensure that each order is accurately picked and prepared, minimizing errors that could impact customer satisfaction. Physical stamina and strength are essential for handling and moving inventory safely throughout the shift.
