Warranty Analyst Gregory Poole
• Garner, NC, United States

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position administers warranty for all service department segments within Power Systems division. This will include EPG, Industrial Engine, Compressed Air Systems and Blue Bird business segments. Administering the warranty programs in a manner which ensures compliance with established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, while recommending procedure and policy changes to minimize warranty residual expense.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Prepares and files warranty claims in accordance with established OEM and vendor guidelines.
  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of warranty claims.
  • Determines appropriate course of action and applicable warranty provision for each submitted service repair.
  • Ascertains accuracy and applicability of submitted warranty support documentation based on each OEM specifications.
  • Coordinates the return of warranty parts to respective OEM or vendor working with the parts department for the PRR.
  • Review warranty statement each month to reconcile debits and credits working with accounting as needed.
  • Upon denial of a claim and/or portion of a claim, negotiates with OEM, vendor and service department to submit additional justification to maximize reimbursement opportunity (if applicable).
  • Reviews relevant warranty reports to identify trends or administrative shortfalls which need to be addressed to maximum warranty recovery rate.
  • Supports Service Department personnel by sharing knowledge of warranty administration guidelines, policies, and procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

Education:

Four-year degree with one year of experience;
Associate degree with two years of experience;
High school graduate with a minimum of four years of experience in a service-related environment.

Physical:
Must be able to work for extended periods while seated.

Other:
Excellent communication, customer relations skills and a pleasant personality are necessary;
Must be PC literate with advanced skills in Microsoft applications, as well as database management;
Mechanical and technical aptitude is a plus.
