Assistant Project Manager - Data Center Construction - Gary, IN This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing Buildings and Structures into complex buildings / industrial complexes and is looking to expand its foothold into the Critical Facilities Market. The company is applying its expertise toward brownfield data center projects, converting an existing building to a data center for the Hyperscale, Colo or Enterprise Marketplace.

We are looking for an Assistant Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Assistant Construction PM will help the Onsite Project Manager manage all aspects of data center construction, lead contractors and vendors, and oversee delivery of projects regionally. The candidate will be responsible for delivering projects on time and on budget, ensuring scope and quality meet design standards and project objectives.

The role requires exceptional organization and strong back-office skills (change orders, budgets, paperwork, etc.).

• Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage day-to-day activities impacting the delivery of the company’s critical facilities construction projects
• Ensure day-to-day project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors
• Assist the PM with management of multiple projects simultaneously when needed
• Assist with creating and managing project schedules
• Assist with project plans – size up, costs, budget, scheduling, timeline, manage change orders, etc.
• Assist with reporting and RFPs to Contractors
• Deliver Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineering
• Drive Company Standards uniformly as regards Project Delivery by all project participants
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests and maintain client relationships
• Represent the company in project meetings
• Act as a liaison with managers of all company departments
• Maintain all logs required to track project progress

• Experience supporting Data Center Construction Projects as a General Contractor
• Minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry
• Client facing / client relationship / client management skills
• Experience working with trades that are MEP or CSA
• Familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
• Effective communicator – emails, phone and face-to-face
• Ability to work independently
• Experience writing/following/revising MOPs and SOPs for critical MEP systems a huge plus
• Experience with Autodesk, REVIT, AutoCAD a huge plus
• Computer-savvy: MS Project, P6 Primavera, Excel a plus
• Previous military experience with Electrical/Mechanical roles is a huge plus (Navy nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees;
  Army - Power Generation; Air Force – Power Production; Generator Techs; Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.)
