Job Description
Northwest Health in Valparaiso, Indiana is seeking a Program Director for our ACGME accredited Family Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for medical education and training residents combined with a strong focus and commitment to ensuring patient care remains a priority.
Responsibilities- Approximately 50% administration and 50% clinical duties.
- Must have 3+ years of academic medicine experience as a Program Director or Core Faculty.
- Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education is maintained.
- Establish strategic direction of the program, its standards, quality, and reputation of the Family Medicine Residency program as followed by faculty and residents.
- Residency program practice management, overall residency operations, and resident oversight.
- Program recruitment, interviews, and selection of residents; six residents are welcomed per year.
- Recruit and oversee faculty and clinical rotations.
- Maintain ongoing clinical activity in Family Medicine, consistent with ACGME guidelines.
- Teach residents through clinical and didactic work.
- Board certified in Family Medicine.
- Clinically practicing physician.
- Documented educational and/or administrative experience required.
- Experience in graduate medical education required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to effectively deal with a broad range of people and personalities.
