MEP Construction Project Manager - Data Centers - Gary, IN

This opportunity is with an established General Contractor that specializes in converting existing buildings and structures into complex buildings / industrial complexes and is expanding its footprint in the Critical Facilities Market. The company focuses on brownfield data center projects—converting existing buildings into data centers for Hyperscale, Colo, or Enterprise markets. They provide a complete life cycle of solutions tailored to the client’s mission-critical facility needs.

This position is also available in:
Dallas, TX or Ashburn, VA. Pre Con PM, CSA PM and Assistant PM roles are also available from Gary, IN.

• Maintain liaison with contractors and vendors to manage day-to-day activities impacting delivery of the company’s critical facilities construction projects
• Ensure all day-to-day project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors on the project
• Manage multiple aspects of the project; assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts; create and manage project schedules
• Develop project plans—size up, costs, budget, scheduling, timeline, change orders, etc.
• Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors
• Deliver Built-to-Suit projects with a strong emphasis on value engineering
• Uphold Company Standards in Project Delivery across all projects
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, equipment rental, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining good client relationships
• Represent the company in project meetings
• Act as liaison with managers of all company departments
• Maintain all logs required to track project progress

• Experience managing data center construction projects as an Owner or as a General Contractor
• Experience converting existing buildings into data centers is a huge plus; brownfield data center construction is a big plus
• Experience managing budgets over $200M
• Minimum 5–10 years of relevant experience in the data center construction industry
• Client-facing/relationship management skills
• Familiarity with the design process for data center and mission-critical building systems
• Effective communication (email, phone, in-person)
• Ability to work independently
• Weekly travel to project sites
• Computer proficiency: MS Project, Excel, Oracle Primavera P6;
  AutoCAD is a plus
• Military/military veteran experience is a plus (e.g., Navy nuclear, Seabees, Army, Air Force power production, etc.)
