We are hiring a Project Manager – Heavy Industrial Projects to lead major EPCM initiatives in the Metals business unit, based in Gary, Indiana. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end delivery of projects, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, safety, quality, and environmental objectives are met.

Location: Gary, IN, United States.

• Displays and actively promotes behavior aligned to Hatch’s goal of achieving a total safety culture.
• Acts as a mentor for the implementation of Hatch safety standards to contractors.
• Develops and obtains sign‑off from the client on the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Client’s Requirement Specification, and establishes the appropriate organization structure to provide required resources.
• Provides leadership to the project, creating a highly committed and aligned team environment with all who can influence outcomes.
• Ensures governance on the project, including compliance to Hatch and client delegations of authority, procedures, policies, and project reviews.
• Authorizes all commitments of expenditure on the project (subject to agreed delegation) and approves payment of invoices, manages claims responses, and settlement processes.
• Develops a detailed scope, cost, and schedule control baseline, and manages any project changes in terms of this agreed baseline.
• Obtains the client’s acceptance of the work and sign‑off for the completed project, prepares and submits the final project close‑out report, and ensures prompt closeout of the prime contract.
• Establishes and manages the invoicing process with the client, ensuring all invoices are effectively delivered with the relevant backup for efficient payment.
• Ensures compliance with the project Environmental and Safety Management Plan.
• Maintains strong communication with the client and the project team.

• University degree in engineering or another relevant discipline.
• 10 years’ experience in Project Management for an EPCM company, preferably with Metals projects.
• Greater than ten years’ experience in cross‑functional leadership roles in a project‑delivery environment, with the ability to evaluate, understand, apply, grow, and mentor the Hatch team across engineering, document management, cost control, schedule, procurement, risk, quality, safety, construction, etc.
• Experience in managing multi‑discipline projects.
• Experience in engineering, procurement, and construction, and in related project activities, interfaces, and interdependencies, with broad knowledge of industry standards.
• Experience in project performance monitoring and reporting.

• Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Process engineering qualification.
• Working knowledge of engineering, project control systems, procurement/contracting, and construction management.
• Business development skills, especially proposal‑lead experience.
