Blend Operator

We are looking for a Blend Operator at our Gary, IN location.

Pay: $19 - $20 depending on experience.

• Oversee daily operations of scrap blending
• Coordinate heat orders with crane operators
• Communication with yard operators, drivers, and Production Managers
• Fill out charge paperwork daily
• Understanding what scraps to be used for the different chemistry heats
• Scheduling and performing scale tests
• Corresponding with USS melters regarding heat orders
• Obtain knowledge of scrap processing
• Obtain knowledge of different types of scrap
• Participate in the Corporate Quality Program as required
• Follow all safety, environmental and other compliance rules and policies

• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to work independently with very little supervision at a fast pace
• Good communication skills and positive attitude
