Job Summary

Travel Centers of America offers a convenient, one‑stop shopping experience with a wide selection of name‑brand products, Grab ’N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, and more. The Store Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager with operations and marketing functions of the Travel Store/Convenience Store. Responsibilities include staffing, training and development, general oversight of staff, and improving profitability. The Assistant General Manager ensures that every traveler returns to the road better than they came.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire the team to meet and exceed company performance standards, improving the potential of the Store department.
  • Develop a trusting atmosphere from which team members can provide feedback; coach and performance‑manage staff per company policy.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain high‑quality team members in a culture that respects and recognizes achievements.
  • Help achieve financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service, and facility processes, focusing on revenue and profit components.
  • Adhere to safety standards and maintain vendor relationships per company guidelines.
  • Assume duties of any hourly associate position as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Lead by example, working alongside team members.
  • Motivate, train, and develop people to unleash talent.
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required.
  • Supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or related industry preferred.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; operational understanding of POS software.

Pay Range: $17.48 – $19.23 per hour.
