Shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am

$25.00/hr – $32.98/hr (Gary, IN)

• Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
• Running diagnostic test on diesel engines and analyzing results for repair.
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhausts.
• Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
• Performing preventative maintenance of SSI vehicles.
• Vehicle wiring and reading wiring schematics.
• Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
• Deliver, pick up, and repair vehicles from our satellite branches.
• Maintaining records of parts inventory and other serviced vehicles.
• Rebuild pumps and vacuum systems.
• Welding and fabrication as needed.

• 3 years diesel mechanic experience, preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic software and computer.
• Knowledge of diesel engine components.
• Insurable driving record.
• Must own full set of mechanic tools.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with DPF, EGR and DEF, preferred.
