Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic

Project Superintendent to oversee field construction activities within our Commercial and Industrial HVAC construction department. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and support to field personnel on various projects, ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This key role involves serving as the primary link between the executive team/project managers and on‑site workforce, managing field operations, coordinating subcontractors, and enforcing safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight & Management :
    Manage and supervise all on‑site construction activities from planning through closeout, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Scheduling & Coordination :
    Develop, maintain, and update construction schedules, coordinating the flow of materials, equipment, and labor to maintain project efficiency.
  • Leadership & Supervision :
    Provide strong leadership and human resource management for field personnel, including superintendents and foremen, conducting performance evaluations and ensuring effective team dynamics.
  • Quality Control & Compliance :
    Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and enforce adherence to industry standards, company quality control plans, and all applicable national, state, and local building codes.
  • Safety Enforcement :
    Implement and enforce rigorous safety programs and policies in compliance with OSHA regulations, ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel and immediately addressing any hazards.
  • Communication & Documentation :
    Maintain consistent and professional communication with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Problem‑Solving & Risk Mitigation :
    Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and potential scope changes in a timely manner to prevent delays and cost overruns.
  • Budget & Cost Management :
    Work with Project Managers to monitor project costs, track labor productivity, and ensure projects are operating within budgeted goals.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience : A minimum of 5‑10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial/industrial construction.
  • HVAC Expertise :
    In‑depth knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, installation methods, and relevant building codes is required.
  • Education :
    High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certifications : OSHA 30 certification is required. Relevant trade licenses or certifications (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) are a plus.
  • Technical Skills :
    Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings. Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite is highly valued.
  • Soft Skills :
    Strong leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities. Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Physical Demands :
    Ability to stand, walk, and navigate construction sites for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Travel :
    Ability to travel between local project sites is required.
