Position Overview

Gaston Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered educator to join our faculty. We are looking for a teacher who desires not only to engage students academically, but also to invest in their spiritual and moral formation. As a teacher at GCS, you will design and deliver instruction that engages students, encourages critical thinking, and integrates a Biblical worldview into every aspect of learning. You will work closely with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership to ensure that each child is known, supported, and challenged to reach their God-given potential.

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in the subject area or an education degree with an emphasis on the subject being taught. Prefer advanced degrees.
• Demonstrate ability to teach or have appropriate teaching experience.
• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Affirm that he/she is passionate about the intellectual and moral formation of students and Christian Education as a professional, understands that teaching at GCS is a Christian ministry position, and believes that this profession and their role as a teacher are a good use of time and talent to honor the Lord Jesus Christ.

• Teach assigned classes with excellence, using creative, effective instructional methods and materials.
• Plan and prepare semester objectives and daily lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, and communicate student progress to parents.
• Provide homework, projects, and practice activities that develop responsibility and independent learning.
• Integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum and classroom environment.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom and uphold school discipline standards.
• Supervise students during assigned duties and support extracurricular events.
• Stay informed about educational trends and commit to helping each student succeed academically, spiritually, and socially.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
