Gaston Christian School is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered educator to join our faculty. We are looking for a Dean of Students who desires not only to engage students academically, but also to invest in their spiritual and moral formation. As a Dean of Students, you will support the Middle School Principal in developing the personal spiritual growth of middle school students, faculty, and staff. You will work closely with the Middle School Principal to establish expectations for proper behavior among middle school students and to coordinate middle school events. As well as teaching male students a deep understanding of scripture, it makes the Bible engaging and accessible.

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in the subject area or an education degree with an emphasis on the subject being taught. Prefer advanced degrees.
• Previous experience in educational leadership at the middle school level
• Demonstrate ability to teach or have appropriate teaching experience.
• A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ

• Teach assigned classes with excellence, using creative, effective instructional methods and materials.
• Plan and prepare semester objectives and daily lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, and communicate student progress to parents.
• Provide homework, projects, and practice activities that develop responsibility and independent learning.
• Integrate Biblical principles throughout the curriculum and classroom environment.
• Maintain a positive, orderly classroom and uphold school discipline standards.
• Supervise students during assigned duties and support extracurricular events.
• Use appropriate technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
• Stay informed about educational trends and commit to helping each student succeed academically, spiritually, and socially.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Administer disciplinary measures in accordance with school policies.
• Introduce and review the GCS Middle School Handbook with all middle school students.
