Medical Assistant- AH LC Extended Care Gastonia Pediatrics- PT

This is a part-time Medical Assistant position in the Pediatric Extended Care department at Atrium Health.

Department: 01450 GCMG Pediatric Extended Care - Pediatrics:
General

Status: Part time

Benefits Eligible: Yes

Hours Per Week: 24

Schedule Details/Additional Information: Part time, weekdays 5p-9p and weekends 8a-8p

Pay Range: $21.45 - $32.20

Major Responsibilities:

• Direct Patient Care:
  Administers medications, performs and documents accurate vital signs, prepares patients for exams and treatments, and assists provider with procedures and treatments.
• Indirect Patient Care:
  Orders tests, reports abnormal findings, screens and prioritizes messages, and explains procedures and test results to patients.
• Documentation:
  Provides consistent and accurate documentation of patient information, care, and concerns in the EMR.
• Time Management:
  Manages time effectively, delegates tasks, and maintains adequate inventory.
• Telephone Communication:
  Answers telephone promptly, completes customer service training, and communicates effectively with internal and external customers.

Education/Experience

Required:

Graduate from an accredited school with a clinical externship for medical assistant training or 2-3 years on-the-job training experience with knowledge of medical terminology.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

Good communication skills, good interpersonal and customer service skills, basic keyboarding and typing skills, and CPR certification required.

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Ability to work with all levels of personnel, ability to work under stressful situations, frequent periods of extended standing and sitting, and possible lifting and assisting of patients.
