Shift: First Shift 7am-3pm

Must be willing and flexible to work overtime when needed.

• Conduct required off-line testing for products.
• Ensure all customer feedback is completed on time, root cause identified and implemented.
• Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.
• Be involved in corrective action and preventive action processes.
• Assist in process capability studies as deemed necessary.
• Assist and/or train plant personnel in GIQ quality system.
• Assist in maintaining customer property.
• Assist in maintaining process for document control.
• Document COA’s, COC’s as required.
• Define quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics; apply quality tools; interpret information and data; apply team concepts.
• Understand and apply basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
• Understand and apply various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.

• We expect you to be Sonoco mission driven.
• We expect you to have at least one year experience in quality in a manufacturing environment.
• You must have previous experience with calibration of test equipment, operation of test equipment, and root cause/corrective action skills.
• You must have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
• To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
• You need to have a working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
• Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
• You will need to be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
• You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• You will need to be able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
• You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
