Position: Healthy Highland Enterprise Staff

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Healthy Highland Enterprise Manager
, the Healthy Highland Enterprise Support Staff will work with Highland Neighborhood Association and community partners to develop and manage a food service enterprise based in the Highland Community. Duties include but are not limited to working with the Healthy Highland Enterprise Manager and Head Chef to prepare, cook, distribute and sell meals and other enterprise items, attend community meetings and gatherings which may occur outside normal business hours.

These duties may be performed at the Central Kitchen and/or on the RAMS Kitchen mobile food trailer.

Candidate Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time; ability to read and understand the English language; ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel. A valid NC driver’s license is also required.

Experience: Experience in food service management required.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Licensure: None.

Certifications: Serve Safe Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire.

Additional skills required: Must have excellent verbal communication skills and excellent organizational skills.

Additional skills preferred: Knowledge of and passion for the Highland Community and population health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of central/mobile kitchen facilities to meet project needs and Health Department standards.
  • Prep and cook meals as planned by Head Chef.
  • Assist in the planning and executing of special events so that the community can taste the food and provide feedback.
  • Complete Serve Safe Certification within 90 days of starting the position.
  • Deliver food to various sites.
  • Set-up, breakdown, sale and distribution at retail locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
