Responsible for accurate inventory control of all packaging and production materials. Will work closely with Purchasing to keep accurate inventories. Assist Warehouse supervisor in any way possible to make the work of the warehouse run smooth and efficient. Functions include inventory control, ordering of supplies, the receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
This position will also require a working knowledge of machinery such as forklift, scissor lift as well as being proficient on computers, including Word, Excel and ERP. The ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment is essential.
- Inventory of packaging and production supplies or other supplies as deemed necessary by manager
- Deliver packaging supplies to production as needed
- Receive incoming material from vendors, customers or other warehouses accurately and promptly
- Responsible for delivery and pick-up of raw material to machines
- Responsible for packing of finished goods
- Verify quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against packing list
- Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items and appropriately report and record any discrepancies
- Accurately place material on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner
- Enter quantity received against the purchase order in the computer system, print back order and inventory stock list
- Attach identifying tag or labels to material or mark information on cases, bales or other containers
- Assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers
- Review all orders for accuracy
- Safely operate all necessary equipment in work area
- Accurately identify and count raw materials and finished goods as listed on the inventory list
- Load and unload trucks
- Stage shipments for pick-up
- Wrap and strap finished goods
- Assist in opening and closing warehouse each day
- Become familiar with good warehousing practices
- Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
- Inventory management of all packaging supplies and production supplies
- Working knowledge of machinery such as forklift and scissor lift
- Proficiency on computers, including Word, Excel and ERP
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
