SALARY FROM £23,500 to £25,500 + EXCEPTIONAL BENEFITS

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Get Recruited is working with a highly successful and well-established business based in Newcastle upon Tyne, who are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant / Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their Finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or Finance Assistant who has previous experience working within an Accounts Payable function and is looking for their next opportunity.

You'll be joining a supportive and experienced Finance team, taking responsibility for a range of payment processing, financial administration and accounts payable activities.

THE ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT / PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT ROLE:

Processing payments accurately and efficiently, ensuring all transactions are completed within agreed timescales.
Supporting the day-to-day Accounts Payable function, including processing and checking financial transactions.
Preparing payment information and maintaining accurate financial records.
Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies and outstanding queries.
Liaising with internal departments and external contacts regarding payments and account queries.
Assisting with reconciliations and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date.
Maintaining financial documentation and supporting audit requirements.
Using accounting systems and Excel to manage financial information.
Supporting the wider Finance team with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities.

THE PERSON:

Must have previous experience working as an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Payable Assistant, Purchase Ledger Clerk or in a similar finance position.
Previous hands-on Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger experience is essential.
Good understanding of payment processes and accounting procedures.
Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Experience dealing with payment queries and resolving discrepancies.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A proactive and reliable approach with strong communication skills.
