Introduction

The Business Administration Apprentice will support the Corporate Asset Team in delivering a range of property and asset management functions. The role involves maintaining property records, supporting Community Asset Transfer projects, providing administrative support, managing data and documentation, and responding to enquiries.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain and update property and asset records within Council databases and systems.
  • Organise and manage property-related documents, including leases, licences, plans and legal agreements.
  • Carry out data quality checks to ensure property information is accurate and up to date
  • Maintain electronic and paper filing systems in line with Council procedures.
  • Assist with the administration of Community Asset Transfer enquiries and applications.
  • Maintain records and supporting documentation for Community Asset Transfers.
  • Support communication with community groups, voluntary organisations and Council services
  • Arrange meetings, consultations and site visits, and prepare associated documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Corporate Asset Team, including managing emails, telephone calls and correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations and spreadsheets, and support the gathering and reporting of property and asset information.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post.
Training Outcome

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the postholder will have gained valuable experience in business administration, property data management, asset management and customer service within a local government environment.

The skills and experience gained may support progression into a range of roles, including Business Support Officer, Property Assistant, Asset Management Assistant, Property Data Officer or other administrative and operational roles across the Council.

The apprenticeship will also provide a foundation for further professional development and training within business administration, property and asset management, or local government services. Future employment opportunities will be subject to organisational requirements and recruitment processes at the time.

Working Arrangements

Working Week: 37 hours per week Normal working hours will be in accordance with the Council's flexi-time scheme. The successful candidate will be required to attend their designated workplace and participate in off-the-job training.
