Full-Time Teaching Assistant

This Full-Time Teaching Assistant role in Gateshead is ideal if you enjoy working with young people and want a steady, long-term position in a supportive school. The team is friendly, welcoming and ready to guide you as you settle into the role.

You’ll support pupils during lessons, provide 1:1 help when needed and help teachers maintain a calm classroom environment. You’ll make a genuine difference to pupils’ confidence and progress.

• Assisting with learning activities across different subjects
• Supporting pupils who need extra encouragement
• Helping with behaviour routines and expectations
• Preparing resources and organising classroom spaces
• Sharing updates with teachers and pastoral staff

• Experience supporting children or young people
• Patience, positivity and strong communication
• A willingness to learn and take guidance
• A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
