English Graduate- SEN Teaching Assistant

We’re working with a supportive SEN school that’s looking for a calm, thoughtful and encouraging graduate to join their team. You’ll help pupils build confidence with language, develop communication skills and access learning at a pace that feels right for them.

• Supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, communication differences and dyslexia
• Using your English strengths to help develop reading, writing and verbal communication
• Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need steady, patient support
• Breaking down instructions, simplifying language and making learning more accessible
• Helping pupils regulate emotions, build routines and feel safe in the classroom
• Building strong, positive relationships with pupils who benefit from consistent encouragement

• You’ll use your love of words and communication every day
• You’ll see how language shapes learning and emotional development
• It’s brilliant experience for PGCEs, SEND roles, pastoral work or psychology pathways
• You’ll learn practical strategies used by teachers, SENCOs and therapists

• A calm, patient graduate with a genuine interest in supporting young people
• Someone who communicates clearly and adapts naturally to different needs
• A team player who brings positivity and consistency
• Experience with young people is helpful, not essential
• A willingness to learn and take on feedback

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
