Grade E, SCP 8-11 (£26,823 - £28,141 per annum, pro rata)

37 Hours per Week, Permanent, 39 Weeks per Year (Term Time Only + INSETS)

The Federation of St Joseph’s Infant and Junior schools requires a committed, conscientious and exceptional individual to support teaching assistant capacity throughout the schools.

In 2019, St Joseph’s Catholic Infant and Junior Schools were federated to form one community. The federated schools were the only school in Gateshead LA selected as part of the DfE 2022 Rebuild Programme. Consequently, we hope to have a new school site within the next three years, which seeks to bring together the two school communities to form one family.

We pride ourselves on the warm, family atmosphere for our children. The uniqueness of our small community means that every member of staff knows every child well and this enables us to develop very strong relationships with all of our families. The senior leadership team is unashamedly ambitious for the schools.

• Previous experience of working as a Teaching Assistant
• Experience of working across the key stages
• Experience of whole class supervision
• Experience of planning and delivering age‑appropriate activities
• A good understanding of children’s learning and development
• Sound practical, interpersonal, and organisational skills
• Experience of supporting children with SEND
• Experience of delivering interventions for pupils with additional needs
• Be flexible and approachable
• Have a willingness to support the extra‑curricular life of the school
