The Head Teacher and Governors seek to appoint a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to take on a part-time role (three days per week) commencing as soon as possible in 2026.
The successful candidate’s main role will be to deliver whole-class sessions across the school, providing PPA time to teachers. Although a range of subjects will be delivered by the candidate, PE, Music and French experience would be beneficial. In addition, the applicant may be asked to provide intervention to individuals and groups of children. Within this role, the enthusiastic and highly motivated individual will make a significant contribution to the progress of pupils.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Met the Higher-Level Teaching Assistant Standards or have an equivalent qualification
- Experience of working across Early Years and the entire primary phase
- High expectations of children’s achievement and behaviour
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils
- Experience of supporting pupils’ personal, social and emotional well-being
- Experience of supporting pupils’ with special educational needs
- Confidence and experience in delivering successful sessions to whole classes
- A commitment to supporting the development of each child within a supportive school community
Short‑listing will take place on Tuesday 6th January 2026 and shortlisted candidates will be informed by no later than Wednesday 7th January 2026. Interviews will take place week commencing Monday 12th January 2026 from which successful candidates will be informed.
Wardley Primary School is a registered Kids Safe school with children being taught clearly how to keep themselves safe both in school and outside in relation to other children and adults. Safeguarding children is a high priority for the school and the appointment process will be rigorous in this matter. The successful candidate will have to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
