This friendly Gateshead primary school regularly welcomes supply teaching assistants to support pupils across the school day. With class sizes of around 25–28 pupils and a calm, well-organised environment, the school values reliable support staff who are keen to learn and get involved.

This role is ideal for university students, recent graduates, or career changers looking to gain hands-on experience with children. The school often requests the same supply staff, meaning there is strong potential for regular and long-term work once a relationship is built.

Your typical working hours are 8:30 – 15:30, including a 30-minute break. No two days are the same, but a typical day could involve:

• Supporting pupils during lessons and activities
• Working with small groups or one-to-one
• Helping pupils stay focused and engaged
• Supporting behaviour and classroom routines
• Assisting the class teacher throughout the day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
