Protocol Education is working with primary schools across Gateshead who need caring, reliable SEND Support Assistants.

You’ll support children with additional needs in the classroom. This could mean:

• Working 1:1 with a pupil who needs extra help
• Supporting small groups during lessons
• Helping children stay focused and calm
• Encouraging confidence and independence
• Supporting social and emotional development

You are not expected to know everything. You will be guided by teachers and school staff.

This role is ideal if you:

• Are a graduate looking for experience in schools
• Want to work in education, psychology, social work or teaching
• Are patient, calm and encouraging
• Can build strong relationships with children

Experience is helpful but not essential. Personality and attitude matter more.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
