A welcoming and well‑led primary school in Gateshead is seeking a Reception ECT to join their Early Years team full‑time, working 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday
.
This is not a sink‑or‑swim role. You’ll be supported, coached, and guided every step of the way.
What you’ll be doing- Teaching a Reception class within a well‑established EYFS framework
- Delivering engaging phonics, early maths, and play‑based learning
- Building secure routines that help children thrive
- Working closely with an experienced EYFS Lead
- Receiving weekly ECT mentoring and structured feedback
You’ll have access to shared planning, established assessment systems, and a team who genuinely enjoy working together.
We’re looking for someone who- Holds UK QTS and is completing or beginning their ECT induction
- Understands child development and early learning principles
- Brings creativity, warmth, and strong organisation
- Wants to build confidence in a supportive setting
- Clear behaviour and safeguarding systems
- A collaborative Early Years team
- Leadership that prioritises staff wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
