HLTA​/Cover Supervisor; SEND

Leader Education are excited to be recruiting a dedicated HLTA / Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming specialist school in Gateshead on a part‑time basis (3 days per week).

This nurturing setting supports pupils aged 2‑11 with moderate learning difficulties and mild to severe ASC. The school is proud of its recent “Outstanding” Ofsted rating, highlighting its commitment to personalised learning programmes, exceptional teaching and an inclusive environment where every child is supported to thrive.

• 3 days per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays)
• 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Long‑term position

• Holds a HLTA qualification (or has experience leading/planning lessons)
• Has experience supporting pupils with ASC and/or learning difficulties
• Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Understands safeguarding and prioritises pupil welfare
• Can confidently support classroom activities and provide 1:1 support where needed
• Is kind, patient, and driven to positively impact young lives
• Holds a fully enhanced DBS (or is willing to obtain one)
