Teacher Active are looking for a hearing impaired specialist in Gateshead. We work within a variety of schools in the area, creating a fun learning environment where every pupil looks forward to learning.

We are currently looking for a learning support / HI Specialist to cover maternity leave from February 2026 and Easter 2026. This is a great chance to widen your experience and thrive within local schools.

• Experience of supporting young people on a 1:1 basis (desirable)
• Confident supporting children in early years and KS1 / KS2
• Supporting children with hearing impairment – Essential
• Have access to your own vehicle
• A good understanding of safeguarding and Child Protection
• Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
