SEN Classroom Assistant – Gateshead

A specialist SEN school in Gateshead is seeking a dedicated Classroom Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs.

The school caters for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), SEMH needs and learning difficulties, providing a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop confidence and independence.

• Providing classroom support to individual pupils and small groups
• Assisting with tailored learning programmes
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
• Encouraging independence and engagement in lessons
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable
• Positive, patient and resilient attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for supporting pupils with SEND

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
