SEN Teacher (Autism Provision) – Gateshead

An established specialist provision in Gateshead is seeking a passionate SEN Teacher with experience supporting pupils with Autism to join their team for the new academic year.

The school provides a nurturing and structured environment for learners with ASC, communication difficulties and associated SEMH needs. Their approach combines personalised learning with therapeutic support to help pupils reach their full potential.

• Delivering differentiated lessons that engage and inspire learners
• Supporting communication development across the curriculum
• Creating a calm, predictable and inclusive classroom environment
• Encouraging independence, self-confidence and emotional regulation
• Monitoring pupil progress and adapting provision accordingly
• Liaising with external professionals and multidisciplinary teams

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status
• Have experience teaching children with Autism and SEN
• Be skilled in adapting learning to meet individual needs
• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Be passionate about inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
