Specialist Support Assistant – Gateshead
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a Gateshead SEN provision for a Specialist Support Assistant.
The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties, helping them achieve both educational and personal goals.
Main Responsibilities:- Delivering one-to-one and small group support
- Assisting pupils with classroom activities
- Encouraging emotional regulation and self-confidence
- Supporting positive behaviour management approaches
- Working closely with teachers and specialist staff
- Experience supporting children or young people
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Caring and empathetic nature
- Genuine interest in special educational needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
