Pastoral Mentor – Make a Difference in Gateshead

Protocol Education is recruiting Pastoral Mentors for a specialist SEMH school in Gateshead.

The school provides tailored support for pupils who require additional emotional, behavioural and pastoral guidance. Staff are committed to helping every pupil feel valued, supported and capable of success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and personal development
  • Building positive and trusting relationships
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
  • Supporting attendance and reducing barriers to learning
  • Working alongside teachers, families and external agencies
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and resilience
We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • A calm, empathetic and professional approach
  • Strong relationship-building abilities
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Qualifications and Requirements

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.

Benefits and Pay

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
